Tim Stay Bio

I have an MBA from the Marriott School of Management and a Masters of International Studies in Third World Economic Development from the Kennedy Center. My undergraduate degree was in Civil Engineering. All the degrees came from Brigham Young University.

My favorite involvement is my opportunity to serve on the board of Unitus, a non-profit targeting poverty alleviation (see my blog about things related to Unitus). I was one of the co-founders of Unitus. I also have the opportunity to serve on the Foundation Board at UVSC, on the board to Center for Economic Self Reliance at BYU, serve on the Lakeridge Junior High School Community Council (which just won the Best of State K-12 Public / Private school for 2007), as well as a Bishop of a local Orem congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

I was the founder of Marketing Ally, an inbound and outbound call center. I started Marketing Ally in 1992 and grew it to 3 centers with over 1200 employees. Marketing Ally was one of the Top 50 largest call centers in the US. I sold it in 2003.

In 1994, I started NorthSky, Inc., which developed the FreeServers.com free website hosting property. In 1999, under the leadership of Hal Halladay as CEO, and with the brilliance of Hans Magleby, Dan Handy, Rob Brown, and others, FreeServers.com became one of the top 50 Media Metrix properties for traffic and was purchased by About.com, propelling About.com into the top 10 internet properties at the time.

In 2000, I started Bizcradle, a small business incubator, working with Hal Halladay, Ken Sorber, and Glen Mella as partners. Soon after, EsNet Partners became a partner in BizCradle. Bizcradle helped start SenForce, HumanLink, and MeuGrupo - Brazil. I also helped found PeopleServe, Global Servers – Brazil, and Integrity Motors.

I am part of the v100 Utah Entrepreneurs for 2004 and 2005. I am receiving a Distinguished Alumni Award from BYU in October of 2005.

In 2004, Rich Christiansen and I started Tornado Solutions, an online niche-content publisher. We also reaquired the name NorthSky and have developed FatPickle.com, a search engine tool application for personalized search.

In 2005, I help start Know More Media, which is an online publisher of business news, tips and information with Hal Halladay. Unlike traditional media, KMM publishes continually - as business happens. While our writers will be experts in their field of practice, we will value and encourage the contribution of the business community.

In 2006, I accepted the invitation from a friend, Dillon Inouye, and became the President and CEO of Perfect Search Corporation. Perfect Search was founded by Dillon Inouye and Ron Millett. The company is a software development company that creates innovative and revolutionary search technology.

I love to water and snow ski, hike, garden, and do genealogy. I am an amateur history buff and I like writing and I like reading even more. I am the father of eight wonderful kids, who are my life and I am very happily married to my wife Dalita.
